YULE LOG MURDER is an anthology comprised of three authors, Leslie Meier, Lee Hollis, and Barbara Ross. I was really excited to see another holiday anthology because last year when I tried it, I discovered Lee Hollis, who has become one of my favorite Cozy Mystery authors now. So seeing their name here again made me very excited. It’s always nice to try these books because you can get a feel of an author’s writing style, especially since these novellas are part of their larger series.
Leslie Meier is quite popular with her Lucy Stone series. I have read her before, but I haven’t actually tried a full length novel from her yet. They have all been novellas so far (and holiday ones) so this was a great reminder to try out the rest of the series.
Barbara Ross was an author that I never tried before but I have been eyeing up for some time now, so when I saw that her story was included here, I was excited to give it a shot. I also enjoyed her story. But what’s unique about this collection is that although they all have to do with Yule log, every story is very different from one another.
Lastly, there is Lee Hollis, whose story was my favorite of the bunch. I adored this story and the holiday vibe. I would definitely recommend this series to anyone who likes food and Cozy Mysteries with some charm and humor.
All in all, this anthology is definitely worth the read. I loved all the food references and the holiday theme. It’s perfect to get you into the Christmas spirit!
