“Three books into the series and Anne Bishop has completely rocked the Urban Fantasy genre, making her the top author of the pack. ” ~ Under the Covers
In a world that is vastly imaginative and mysterious, Anne Bishop breathes new life in her characters. As the leader of the Courtyard, Simon Wolfgard must make a decision when he sees the aftermath of the events of the last book. Through free, the women aren’t adjusting well, falling into catatonic states and cutting themselves to the point of death. As a cassandra sangue, Meg understands the compulsion but seems to be struggling herself.
Meanwhile, Bishop explores more of the world with other characters. Monty experiences his own personal hell when his young daughter shows up without her mother and blood on her constant companion, Boo Bear. As Bishop weaves this intricate plot, readers are drawn into this world and if you’re like me, you’ll find it addicting as it is dark.
I don’t think there’s a series quite like this one out there. While reading though, I would say that some of the writing style is similar to Nalini Singh’s Psy-Changling series and Patricia Brigg’s Mercy Thompson, so if you’re a fan of one, or even both, you’ll probably enjoy this series.
Three books into the series and Anne Bishop has completely rocked the Urban Fantasy genre, making her the top author of the pack.
