The Party Plan is a very short yet satisfying read. It is Melanie Jayne’s debut novella into the sexy world of romance, and I have to say, she did a pretty good job.

Avery had always had her eyes on Kade, her best friend’s brother. Unfortunately, the timing was never right. Now that they are adults and have a good grasp of life, fate finally gives them a chance. This time, they are both single, in the right frame of mind and finally have their eyes on each other. Will it be just a one night stand or will they give fate a run for her money?

This book was such a fun read. I only wish it were longer. I suppose for a very short read, Jayne did great. There was not a hint of insta-love that usually happens in short stories such as this one. The inserts of their past throughout the story was a brilliant way to avoid that issue. Kade and Avery were sweet and sexy but I’d say this novella was more a sexy contemporary than erotica story.  Not much else to say about a book with sixty-seven pages except, if you want a quick hot read, this is it for you! I wish Ms. Jayne good luck to her new adventures in the world of writing.
