“Krista Davis’ straightforward style of writing makes it easy to follow.”
~ Under the Covers
Sophie has her hands full when a celebrity judge is murdered at the Old Town’s annual Pie Festival. With its charming setting and even more charming characters, I think this is a good series for someone who is just starting out with Cozy Mysteries.
Krista Davis’ straightforward style of writing makes it easy to follow. I never had a problem with getting in tune with Sophie or the other characters. However, I’m not sure that this was one of my favorites in the series. While it is still enjoyable, it doesn’t have the same punch as some of the other books. However, I think that might just be the subject that I’m not crazy about. I’ve read plenty of other Cozies that feature pie and have not fully committed to the story. I sense that could be the reason why I feel this way. Nevertheless, I do think the book is worth the read, especially is you’re a loyal fan of the series.
