ARC Review: The Darkest Touch by Gena Showalter

THE DARKEST TOUCH is one of the most anticipated books in the Lords of the Underworld series.  From the very beginning we have all fallen in love with the Lord that can’t touch anyone or he could start a plague.  I’ve felt for him, deprived of touch, and deprived of love in some basic level for such a long time.  What a sad existence.  So to say that I was ready to see him be happy it’s an understatement.

But then there’s the part of me that was so afraid to read this because I didn’t want to just have this problem magically disappear and now he can touch the heroine.  I should’ve known to trust Ms. Showalter.  After reading this book I feel that the our beloved Torin has found the RIGHT heroine for him.

As much as I was surprised, he’s a little rough around the edges and needs a heroine that loves that side of him.  And  I loved every side of him.  He’s sensual and primal.  Possessive to the core.  He puts his woman first.  And that whole thing about how he can touch her and still be demon-possessed?  Job well done!  Don’t want to give anything away so you’ll just have to read it for yourself.  But yes, there’s touching.  Yes, there’s sex.  And yes, it’s HOT!

This book started out pretty strong for me, and although there was a time before the 50% mark where I was getting bugged down with the constant humor we shall call it, after I got to the middle this book kicked major ass!  It was non-stop action, revelations, new questions and opportunities!  And it revolved around an even sexier Torin than I imagined.  He will definitely make you melt.  I think fans will be very happy with this one.

Be prepared to be introduced to new characters and see the bonds develop with new and upcoming couples.  I was happy to see that the main focus in this book was on Torin and Keeley.  We get just small teases into other situations and that is enough to whet my appetite for more!  I have a few in mind I’m anxiously anticipating…and that’s before we start talking about William.

I had too many quotes marked on this book to write down just one.  Just know ahead of time you will laugh, you will squirm and you will enjoy with this one!
