It was short, but sweet and sexy ~ Under the Covers

Never sign a contract when you are intoxicated, as a lawyer Kristen Grey should know that, but she never expected her law partner, nemesis and friend Jason Mitchell to have actually kept the signed napkin. The one where they both signed to say if they weren’t married by the big four oh that they would marry each other; be the back up plan. So this year, the year of her fortieth birthday, Kristen is determined to find her ideal man so she doesn’t end up with her back up, she just never suspected they might be the same man.

This was another good book in the Second Chances series by Mari Carr. It was short, but sweet and sexy much like the previous books in the series which I have enjoyed. This time we are looking at Kristen, a workaholic lawyer approaching forty who has been single most her life to focus on her career, but she wants a second chance at romance.

I did like the romance between Jason and Kristen, it made sense, however, I don’t think they had the great sexual chemistry that the previous couples exhibit. That didn’t stop the sex scenes from being hot, Carr knows how to get you all hot and bothered, but I would have liked to see a bigger romantic connection between them they seemed more like friends.

However, this was an enjoyable read and I will definitely be reading the next book in this series to see who is next to get their second chance.
