Marina’s story telling made me laugh, cry and again, fall in love not only with the hero and heroine but the town’s people and their history. Sugar’s Twice as Sweet is a good start to this small town romance.

Josephina had lost everything and her instincts tell her to go to the place where she felt loved and always at peace when she was younger. Her favorite aunt had left her her house. Once full of life and magic, the manor is now nothing but a raggedy money pit. With nothing left in her life, Joie plans to stay in Sugar and turn this manor into a magical place it used to be. Unfortunately, the town of Sugar will not be so welcoming, except for one handsome Bret Mcgraw, the town’s golf player celebrity.

I love Joei and her balls to start her life from scratch. Steering away from her parents and wanting to pursue her dreams was a big deal. Given that her motivation came from a broken heart, but her motivation is there. I love Bret even more. He knows exactly what he wanted. He was a playboy athlete but as soon as he saw Josephina in town his priorities changed. I loved their courtship as well as their banters, innuendos and the fact that Bret gets Josephina.

I also enjoyed the grannies from hell. The towns bully old timers made me laugh with their activities. They were sometimes over the top with their meddling but these grandmothers are a good fit with this story.

I cant help but feel giddy, each time I finish a chapter in this book. I love the light hearted romance,  humor and the promise of more McGraw brothers.  I’m excited to see what Ms. Adair have installed for this series.
