“SPENT is about aftermath and forgiveness, but also about second chances.” ~Under the Covers
SPENT is about aftermath and forgiveness, but also about second chances. While I was torn reading the story as to what outcome I wanted for Cliff and Connie, the author did a perfect job with it.
Emotions fly high and betrayal cuts deep. I felt really bad for Cliff in this one because not only was he betrayed by the woman he loves, but also in business. SPENT is his time to regroup and reinvent himself. Maybe go back to basics and regroup.
I especially liked that this was not a gratuitous second chance and immediate forgiveness. Connie had the time apart to think about what she did. To see where she went wrong. And to realize how she hurt not only others, but herself as well.
When I read the ending, I was happy with it. Happy with how it ended, how they got there and the promise for their future. It felt real. And that’s what was most important.
For fans of serials, you have to read this one! And even if you’re not a fan, they’re all out now and there’s only 4 parts!! So at a whopping $3.96 for the whole story, this is definitely worth it.
