“Becks….I am in love.  What a great hero!  Loving, caring, sexy, possessive.  Just perfect.” ~ Under the Covers

Do you know those times when you just want to reach across the pages and start smacking a character a bit to get some sense into them?  That may be my relationship with the heroine of SLOW BURN, Hadie.   I just didn’t understand her logic a lot of the time.  But that’s not something I want to pinpoint in this review.

Becks….I am in love.  What a great hero!  Typical text book good guy.  Comes from a good family, loves his brother, has a bad boy best friend so there’s a little spark there that makes you wonder what he’s hiding.  But he’s the guy you would die to bring home to your parents.  *sigh*  Loving, caring, sexy, possessive.  Just perfect.

The chemistry between Becks and Hadie was there.  Sexually that is.  It was the only way they would communicate, and it makes me wonder how Becks developed all those deep feelings for someone that repeatedly hurts him and pushes him away.  This goes back to my first opinion about Hadie and not understanding her reasoning.

Eventually this book does manage to get in my good graces.  The emotional way the author paints the heart ache and experiences of breast cancer brought many tears to my eyes.  I even ugly cried once.  Even if Hadie was a little TSTL.  My heart was always with her and those around her in these moments.
