“Realm Walker is action packed, suspenseful and it has a very dark world where survival is the fittest.” ~Under the Covers

Realm Walker reminds me very much of Jeaniene Frost’s Night Huntress series, Amanda Carlson’s Jessica McClain Series, and Keri Lake’s Sons of Wrath series. With that being said, you know this book will also have a kick-ass heroine which I LOVE reading about. Realm Walker is action packed, suspenseful and it has a very dark world where survival is the fittest.

Vampires, Demons, Shifters and other supes roam this world and Julliana Norris can track them with her ability to see magical creatures. As a supernatural being herself, she hunted creatures that technically didn’t follow the rules. Unfortunately, this time, she has become the hunted along with the people she loves.

The world building was good. I love that there were plenty of elements to go around. It shows how big Ms. Collins’ plan for this book and she explained the world good enough that I did not get lost. I thought there was a perfect blend of action and suspense. Some scenes made me sit up, eager to find out what’s about to happen. I have to admit though, there were some scenes that were a bit bloodier than I expected. It was pretty awesome though.

I really like Juliana. This girl can kick-ass like there’s no tomorrow but she is also humanizes by her feelings from the past. She was loved, tormented and heartbroken…a recipe for a well jaded woman. It was good seeing through her eyes, the empathy for her was almost immediate when I found out what happened between her and mate. But as always, there is more than meets the eye. There was a well good enough reason why her mate, Thomas had left. Now that he is back, there will be a chance to find out the why’s of it all. Though I wasn’t in love with Thomas, I was drawn to his power as a leader and of course the “I’m-on-top-of-the-food-chain….so-back-off” persona just pulled me right in.

The romance was light and the smexy was very low but you feel how strong the love is between Juliana and Thomas. There was a bit of angst, but in all honesty it was all justified. Though there was no happy-ending, there is a promise of a stronger romance element for the next book (crossing my fingers). I would like to explore more of this powerful Thomas.

If you like Urban Fantasy novels with a mentally and physically strong heroine then, I recommend you give this novel a chance.
