Amy Lane is quite skilled at bending reader’s emotions at her will. It’s simple: We read and we fall in love. Poignant and touching, Lane never fails to pen a story that will captivate you. I’m just in awe with how she is able to do all this in so many different, dazzling ways.  ~ Under the Covers

There are very few writers who can accomplish all. Amy Lane is one of those very talented few. With each book she releases, readers are transported time and time again to a new world, with new characters but one thing stays the same: You are always guaranteed a good read that touches you on a deeply emotional level.

RACING FOR THE SUN has a wonderful premise: Jasper “Ace” Atchinson is a Staff Sergeant and the second his eyes land on Sonny Daye, he knows that there is something more to the kid than meets the eye. As Ace takes Sonny under his wing to protect him while they are in service, they also come to make some plans after they get out. In the beginning of what seems to be a blooming relationship, readers learn more about Ace and Sonny that will shock and shatter them.

I won’t go into the details for the sake of saving the reading experience for readers but this book touches on some dark things that will immediately make you connect with the characters. Sonny is such an intricate and complex character. Sometimes, while I was reading this, I wondered how a scene would play out from Sonny’s POV. I would be a riveting, yet haunting thing, I think. Though flawed, those imperfections are what bring Sonny and Ace together.
