“There is plenty to love with the After Hours series. ” ~ Under the Covers
ONE NIGHT OF SCANDAL is a friends to lovers story that is turned up a 100 notches on the scorching scale.
Darcy Grant has just gotten out of a relationship and is looking to jump straight into a whirlwind night to forgot all about it. However, Reed Miller, her ex’s best friend is standing in the way of that. Instead of letting her dance the night away with a new stranger, he steps in, wanting to know why she is cheating on his best friend. When he finds out about their recent break up, Reed is surprise to find that he wants Darcy and has wanted her for a long time. With her a free agent, Reed is battling his lusts and his desire to sweep in a snag her for himself.
Elle Kennedy is known for her hot and scorching sex scenes, but this one really amps it up. Right from the beginning I thought that the sexual tension between the hero and heroine to be quite intense, so it’s really no surprise to find that this one was particularly hot. One thing I would have liked though is to have everything slow down a little bit. Reed and Darcy are full throttle, but because of the circumstances of how they know each other, it seems quite fast. I did, however, love that AJ was open to them being together. I think it took out the guilt factor a little more and made it easier to accept.
Since I haven’t read the first book in the series yet, I think I will definitely need to make some time to read it now. As a fan of Elle Kennedy’s writing style and sultry romances, I’m sure there is plenty to love with the After Hours series.
