Seductive, sinful, and sexy, NIKOLAI will tempt readers to walk into the Dark side. ~ Under the Covers

NIKOLAI is the prequel novella to the Dark Light series by S.L. Jennings. Though she claims that this is book 2.5 in the series and should be read AFTER the first two books in the series, I still think that it works well on its own. You will just go into the series knowing more about Niko’s dark persona and that may or may not influence who you enjoy more – Niko or his brother, Dorian.

Jennings’ writing style is a little frivolous, highly detailed and uber sexy. The opening scene paints a sinful atmosphere that is perfect for the Dark. Nikolai is the king of it all, basking in women, lust and power. It isn’t until he is sent a little human that he notices something different about her.

The romance between Amelie and Nikolai is swift, but still fairly believable. The chance in Niko from the beginning and the end is drastic, but when you read the rest of the series, all these details will only enrich your reading experience. I think Jennings was able to capture the mood and the passion very well in this novel and the ending? Well, you’ll just have to read the novella yourself to read that epic ending.
