“This installment is full of action and big bad guys that have amped up the thrills and excitement, it also delivers on strengthening relationships…..Mercy is FIERCE!” ~Under the Covers

Another installment packed with action!  Patricia Briggs has created one of my favorite worlds, where it’s easy to pick right up where we left off because we are so involved in the stories she tells.  We’ve seen these characters grow so much, not only in their relationships but in their power and how comfortable they are with themselves and what they can do.

A perfect example of that is Mercy in this book.  When faced with tough opponents, Mercy puts her big girl panties on and kicks some ass!  And I’m not just talking when fighting the bad guys, also when facing her personal issues.  Mercy is FIERCE!  Oh, why you may ask?  Christy, Adam’s ex is back and under Mercy’s roof!

So basically Christy is in trouble and has a stalker/serial killer after her.  She can only be safe with the pack.  But when she moves in, she takes over.  Overstepping boundaries and pushing Mercy’s buttons left and right.  Meanwhile, Mercy and the pack have to protect her from an evil they may not survive.

But just as this installment is full of action and big bad guys that have amped up the thrills and excitement, it also delivers on strengthening relationships.  Adam and Mercy, Mercy and the pack, even Mercy and Stefan.  Relationships are put to the test in this book.  Trust is as well.

For me, this was one of the most exciting Mercy books in a while and a great addition to the series.  Although I can’t help but be left wanting more.
