“[Young’s] talent really shows when she has a group of characters and has them interact with one another. It integrates the sweet, heartwarming moments with the fun, flirty kind and to me that was the most memorable part of the book.” ~ Under the Covers

Listed as the last book in the On Dublin Street series, MOONLIGHT ON NIGHTINGALE WAY is the perfect place to wrap up the series. Samantha Young has crated a bunch of fun and sexy characters in the series and while I do prefer the first books to the latter ones, she has certainly opened up the doors to more International heroes in Romance.

In this particular book Young takes the neighbours trope and really runs with it. When Grace wakes up one morning to find a pair of knickers (aka panties) just dangling around for everyone to see, she confronts her neighbor about it. After a one night stand, Loganโ€™s lover left her unmentionables out to dry and this annoys Logan as well. As Grace and Logan start off on the wrong foot, their interactions remained strained until they cannot take any more of each other.

In all honesty the romance for me was the weakest part of the book. I didnโ€™t immediately jump on the band wagon because I think the first scene with Logan and Grace didnโ€™t resonate with me. I didnโ€™t understand what the big deal was and what their issues were with each other to make them hate each other that much. If I was Grace I probably would have just punched Logan if he annoyed me that much.

But I do think Young has some good parts in this book as well. I particularly think she writes some charming secondary characters. Her talent really shows when she has a group of characters and has them interact with one another. It integrates the sweet, heartwarming moments with the fun, flirty kind and to me that was the most memorable part of the book. So while some parts of this book worked better than others, I still think itโ€™s worth checking out.

  1. Nice review!

I had to give up on this one a little over halfway through. I just couldn’t connect with the characters, and I didn’t think either one of them were growing. It felt a bit like children playing house to me. It was disappointing, because On Dublin Street is one of my favorite books of all time. ๐Ÿ™

  2. I thought you were being harsh. It’s Samantha Young! OMG, you are spot on. This book sucks. I gave up 50% in. I couldn’t get into the story. So much family drama. I want fun sexy adult reading, not this. Disappointing, but I can always reread some of the other books in the series. Thank you for the review as always!
