ARC Review: Misplaced Lessons by Mari Carr and Lexxie Couper

I love this series!  The stories are the perfect quick pick me up that I need sometimes to get me out of a reading funk.  They’re packed full of hotness, the characters are always fun and the scenarios are crazy.  What more can I ask for?

First of all, let me just say that although this is book # 3 in the series, it can totally be read as a standalone.  Actually, the way I see this series is that if you read book one, you should read book two.  And then if you read book three, you’ll want to read book four.  They go in pairs.  Why?  Because it’s basically a country swap.

Amy is a teacher from Australia looking to get out of the boredom of her daily life and see the world.  Harper is her online BFF from Chicago.  They’ve never met but they’ve shared a true connection.  Now they decide to swap houses.  Amy flies in to Chicago to spend a week at Harper’s house, and Harper is supposed to take Amy’s place in Australia.  This book focuses on Amy.

But Amy is in for a hot surprise when she gets an extra bonus while staying at Harper’s house.  That is Harper’s hot and Dominant brother, Andrew.  He had no clue what his sister had planned or who Amy is.  But after one night of fun, he’s not about to let her just leave his bed.

If you are reading this for the true aspect of a BDSM relationship, then you’re not going to enjoy it as much.  Although Amy and Andrew play with BDSM, Amy never really came across as a submissive.  But that’s part of her charm, she’s feisty and demanding even when she’s enjoying a bit of dominance (or maybe a lot).  I loved her personality, and how she was always up for anything in this adventure.  She was really living life to the fullest for that one week she thought would be just a memory.  Kuddos to her!

And then there’s Andrew. He was extremely sexy, especially when he kept trying to nail Amy to any flat surface.  The boy has some stamina!  He was a very interesting hero for me.  He’s traveled, seen the world, doesn’t think his lifestyle is conducive for a relationship.  He’s also tired of the typical submissives that always leave him wanting something else.  Amy was the perfect spice to add to his life.  And I love that he doesn’t shy away from that attraction because of who she is.

I can’t wait to see what trouble Harper got involved in Australia with some hot brothers from down under.  Bring on the next book!
