“Midnight’s Kiss by Thea Harrison is an anticipated book in the Elder Races series as fans finally get a book about the hated King of Night Kind world.” ~ Under the Covers

Midnight’s Kiss by Thea Harrison is an anticipated book in the Elder Races series as fans finally get a book about the hated King of Night Kind world.

Mellisandre, a princess of the Light Fae, was taken out of her own home, kidnapped to be used as bait to bring Julian to his knees.

Honestly, I’m a bit surprised at how Julian’s character turned out to be. I was expecting a mean hearted, selfless ass, who care nothing but himself and his ruling as the Nightkind King. Yes, he was ruthless and fearless when it came to battle, well respected and feared amongst his people but he was also every bit as sweet, and romantic. It was hard not to fall for him.

Melly, on the other hand, was exactly as I expected. What you see is what you get with this girl which makes her perfect for Julian. There was even a time when I thought she was pretty kick ass herself.

I have no complaints when it comes to the world of the Night Kind demesne. It was so much fun to see the convoluted politics and the backstabbing council members along with the characters from previous installments. My only gripe is the excitement didn’t come until in a later part of the book. There were also some scenes that were a bit awkward or slow for my liking.

Overall, Midnight’s Kiss was filled with good adventure, a bit of mystery and a whole lot of sweet. Elder Races fans will not be disappointed.

  1. Thanks for the review, I haven’t started this series yet, but I do have a few books on my TBR pile.

  2. Thanks for the review. I’m a book behind on this series. I am very curious though as to how she will get the readers to fall for Julian.
