“This was an easy story to fall in love with.” ~Under the Covers
Sometimes it’s so much better to go into a book and be completely surprised.ย I admit I didn’t read the blurb of this book before cracking it open (Ummm hello…did you look at the cover?ย Need I say more?).ย I was pleasantly surprised that this wasn’t the military romance that I somehow was expecting to get.
MIDNIGHT SECRETS is a small town contemporary romance with a good suspense story.ย From the very beginning, it was about getting to know Zach and Savannah, then and now.ย Zach was the boy from the wrong side of town, and Savannah the daughter of one of the richest families.ย Both weren’t strangers to scandals and secrets, and those secrets eventually got between them…then.
Now that Savannah is back in town, after ten years, she finds herself faced with feelings she apparently still has for Zach, who is now chief of police and mighty sexy.ย And Zach has always known that she was the one, just never thought he could be forgiven.
This was an easy story to fall in love with.ย I love that this series will be centered around sisters because families always work so well for me.ย We get just a bit of family interaction in this one, although I would’ve liked to see more.ย And then there’s the fact that this is a second chance romance, which I just love, but we get to actually read the back up story.ย I think that was my favorite part of the whole story.ย Seeing Zach and Savannah, teenage years, falling in love and stumbling along.ย And then the difference 10 years made in each of them as individuals and also at how they are approaching a relationship.
This was not a book heavy on the suspense, however the twist at the end on who the bad guy was was interesting.ย I did suspect “the baddy” just once while reading it.ย So job well done.ย I can’t wait to read the next in the series!

Coming from a small Southern town myself, I can attest to the fact that they are rife with intrigue and buried secrets. I am also a fan of reunion stories, so Midnight Secrets sounds just perfect.
Hi Sebella! Aren’t small towns fascinating? I love them! And thank you for your kind words. If you get the chance to read MIDNIGHT SECRETS, I hope you enjoy!
This sounds great! I love the ‘coming home’ type stories and to toss in a mystery just makes it better.
