ARC Review: Manwhore by Katy Evans

“Katy Evans’ writing is addicting! MANWHORE might be my favorite book of hers yet!”~ Under the Covers

I hope the title is enough to grab your attention because it certainly caught mine! The manwhore in question is Malcolm Saint. Geez, even his name is sexy! Saint is the hottest bachelor in town. He’s rich, hardworking and so damn sexy it’s impossible not to love him. Lucky for him, he isn’t a dick either! Yay!

Rachel Livingston works at Edge, a magazine that is desperate to get back own its fate after suffering from some cuts. Her boss, Helen wants something that the people will go crazy over and since the city is obsessed with the hotshot young businessman, Saint and his new endeavor Interface, she tasks Rachel with writing a piece on him. She wants it all – even the hidden details that no one else should know about a man.

With the expose in mind, Rachel finds herself in Saint’s inner circle, swimming with sharks as she tries desperately not to drown. There’s something really sweet and endearing about Rachel’s character. She freaks out but it doesn’t fall into TSTL territory. She is rightly nervous because of her intentions but there’s also something very all-consuming about Saint as well.

I liked that Saint teased her. It seemed to ease her a little bit and began the romance early. I’m so over jerk billionaires so I was pleased to see what Evans wasn’t going to be taking that route.

It’s also very nice to see a hero who knows what he wants. He doesn’t have any conflicted behaviours where he sends mixed messages. When Saint wants something, he’s 100% into getting it. So having that sense of clarity in him made him very desirable in my eyes.

Evans also introduces Saint’s best friends, Callan and Tahoe. I’m very excited to see what she’ll be doing with these characters because they sure were a lot of fun to read about. Similarly, Rachel’s friend, Gina was a hoot!
