Emilia had just lost her twin and she had set her mind to find out what happened to her. Along with this quest for information and vengeance, she will discover that she is more than just your basic witch in hiding. 

Keri Maniscalco has outdone herself. Kingdom of the Wicked is a great start to this fantasy world of demons and witches. I was intrigued by everything she put on the table. I love the idea of seven different houses led by demon brothers and for the most part, at war with each other for power. I enjoyed the dynamic between Emilia and Wrath and the possibilities of where their relationship is going. Their chemistry is off the charts but the romance is not the main focus of this story. I wouldn’t have complained if it were.  I love Wrath. He is ruthless and a total badass but you know he has a soft spot for Emila. He sort of reminds of Niklaus from The Originals. *sigh*. I fell in love with him instantly. 

Fair warning, there is a cliffhanger at the end of this book. I’m bummed that I’d have to wait so long to find out what happens but I trust Maniscalco that it will be worth the wait. She has yet to disappoint me.

Occasionally, I will venture to Erotica, BDSM reads and rarely Historical Romance. There are some sub-genres that I don’t always enjoy, but I’m open to stepping out of my comfort zone. For the most part, as long as there’s a hint of romance, I’m pretty much in.

  1. I wanted to like this more. It was slow for a bit in the beginning. I found myself frustrated because they should habe been raised with certain information and educated in their witchcraft legacy. We ended being told in some way about connections. I was left with questions about those connections as well as a cliffhanger.

    I did love Wrath and the chemistry between him and Emilia. That part was done extremely well!
