You guys. This debut from @robbyreads is SO. CUTE. I absolutely devoured it.
It’s the beginning of the summer before his senior year, and after a relationship the previous summer left him pretty jaded, Harry had sworn off boys. Until he meets Logan…and then his ex comes back to town. And suddenly Harry finds himself caught between two boys: one that’s familiar, and one that’s new and exciting AND A TOTAL SWEETHEART.
Gah. Logan Waters must be protected at all costs. But I digress…
Harry was honestly such a relatable MC, even for a straight, 30-year-old woman like myself. I remember being his age and, the summer before my senior year, trying to find myself and where I fit in the world. I found myself getting annoyed with him, but then I reminded myself what it was like to be 17 and feel like the entire world revolved around you 😂

This book was sweet and funny and frustrating and angsty and full of self-reflection. Harry started out floating through his life, pretty much doing whatever he wanted. And he had sworn off boys. But after a lot of tears, drama, and a long, hard look in the mirror, he really comes to realize that he can’t continue to stomp around wrecking everything he holds dear in order to get what he wants. He realizes that gaining one is not worth losing the other, and the two don’t have to be mutually exclusive.
I also loved that this book was littered with pop culture/movie references. And that Harry’s voice felt very stream-of-consciousness. And thank you, Robby, for the nod to Catch Me If You Can. You made 17-year-old Frank Abagnale-obsessed Manda very happy 😂
