“Elizabeth Michels has become one of my go to authors for a fun and sweet historical romance!” ~ Under the Covers
Light hearted and entertaining from beginning to end. This is the story of Lord Amberstall, whom I wasn’t a big fan of in the previous book. If you remember him from pursuing Lilly and the disaster at the horse exhibition, I wasn’t too thrilled with the fact he was getting his HEA. But trusting the author completely I went in without any reservations.
And what a fun book this was! Andy is so sweet underneath that exterior. And caring. I love that side of him just as much as I loved the teasing one. He left for Scotland after the embarrassment with the Mad Duke and is now forced to go back home after his mother tells him of trouble with his neighbor back home. Except the trouble might be a bit more serious than he thought when he finds himself being chased by shady characters while coming back home. And he ends up crashing with his horse right onto Katie Moore’s property.
And as much as I loved Andrew, I completely loved Katie. And earl daughter who wears breeches, walks with a stick, and lives alone in a cottage on the edge of her father’s property. She doesn’t know much about propriety or the rules of the ton. She does what feels right and says what comes to mind. And is used to things going her way. She even offers her help to the annoying Lord Amberstall and helps him heal his horse so he can safely travel back home.
Their romance develops first as two strangers helping each other, who quickly become friends. They are so compatible that it was just bound to happen. Katie with her free ways is exactly what Andrew wants deep down but has been tied down with responsibilities his whole life that he couldn’t see that.
Surprisingly, Elizabeth Michels has become one of my go to authors for a fun and sweet historical romance! I love her stories because they are not cookie cutter, and they’re always so much fun to read. It’s like embarking on an unexpected adventure. And HOW TO LOSE A LORD IN 10 DAYS OR LESS was just that, a fun adventure.
Fave quotes:
“I like your dirtiness.”
“Even my worst day is made better by you.”

Thanks for the review Francesca
Katie is kooky & a unique woman of her time! I loved all her hobbies, but the bagpipes were my favorite! I wish sometimes that books had an audio track and this one would be badly played bagpipes! Elizabeth Michels is an original, creative and as kooky and hilarious as her books! I highly recommend all her books because they have an inner light that will shines up your world! You will also hyperventilate with LAUGHTER!
Katie sounds like my kind of heroine. Haven’t read anything by this author before but I will definitely be looking her up now.
