Samantha Young is one of my favourite authors, her On Dublin Street series is one of my favourite series of all time. As much as I adore Samantha’s writing and her other books nothing has lived up to On Dublin Street for me, until now. Here With Me is the book I’ve been waiting for and fans of On Dublin Street will lap this up!

I should say that celebrities isn’t something I am interested in, especially Hollywood movie stars. The celebrity trope is something I don’t read but the mysterious and mercurial, ex Hollywood leading man Lachlan Adair captured me with his wit and sizzling chemistry for ex police officer, Robyn Penhaligon.

Following a gun shot and re-examining her life Robyn gives up her career as a police officer and follows her passion as a photographer. Robyn arrives in Scotland to see her estranged father, Mac who abandoned her for his career in security. Mac is working as a bodyguard on Lachlan’s private estate, It’s here she becomes wrapped up in a mystery and a fight to help her father. The relationship between Robyn and her father is strained and difficult and I adored the reconnection between these two characters. Robyn is smart and sassy, I loved the banter between her and Lachlan, she never failed to put him in his place. While Robyn wants answers from her father, Lachlan has his own painful past to confront, this along with solving a mystery, forces Robyn and Lachlan together.

This is quite a big book, but the story has good flow and it never felt like I was stuck in a big book. The suspense side of the story I had figured out early on but the writing is so engaging it keeps you hooked into the story. The romance is a slow burn, with some sexy times, I do prefer my romance to be more steamier but the chemistry between the two main characters is so off the charts good that I was held all the way through. I was completely sucked into the secondary characters, I loved the family dynamics and I really want to know more about them, this is something I hope to see in the future.

Samantha has weaved romance, suspense and fleshy characters and wrapped all this up in beautiful prose. Scotland has a special place in my heart, and the author’s descriptions of the Highlands are magnificent and atmospheric. I devoured this enemies to lovers story, full of heart, complex characters, danger and excitement, Here With Me is one of my favourite reads of 2021 and I can’t wait for the next instalment!

I was made immortal at aged 22. I don’t remember much of how it happened, but I was strutting my stuff one night in SO much leather I squeaked and I accidentally offered my neck to some hottie that looked just like Spike from Buffy, don’t tell me you wouldn’t have done the same! I’ve not kept track of my birthdays since then, so that takes care of my age portion of this bio.

I live in England and share my home with my two teen boys and our fluffy Cavalier Kings Charles Spaniel. When i’m not breaking up squabbles and getting dog hair out of my carpet you can find me getting cosy with a stack of books, journals and a mountain of pens!

Paranormal Romance is my one true love. I can’t think of anything better than getting down and dirty with some hot alpha vamps or some heavy petting with sexy shifters! I like to mix it up with some sweet sexy contemporary romance or the occasional romantic suspense, Alpha hero’s with big guns.. yes please! Over the past six months I’ve been dipping in and out of historical romance, you can thank Bridgerton for that!

Jamie Fraser is my ultimate book boyfriend. I will fight to the death for this beautiful man! I must have a HEA. Tea is my favourite drink. My bed is my favourite place to read and pizza is my favourite food! I am a perpetual day dreamer and hopeless romantic.
