Combining my love for animals and my love for cowboys, this book was the perfect sweet read to entertain me on a cold winter night. Merry is a nurse and runs a voluntary dog rescue program out of her home.

I was immediately sucked in by Merry’s personality and her giving nature. She’s the perfect blend of strong willed heroine, but she doesn’t come on too strong because she’s also playful. And it’s that playfulness that I think is the perfect mix to TJ’s serious outlook.

And if you love your heroes on the surly side then look no further than cowboy TJ. He runs a farm and has an ideal future wife in mind. No frilly girls need apply, he wants a cowgirl who’s ready to live on the farm with him. Imagine his surprise when he’s immediately attracted to Merry, who by all means is very girly. When they’re almost forced by circumstances to work together, sparks fly very fast even if he doesn’t want them to.

This is a cute, feel good romance. It’s my first time reading this author and it was an enjoyable experience. There are times when I am just in the mood for a story to put a smile on my face, without all the angst, and this did the trick. The fact that there’s kids and animals just got to me even more.
