ARC Review: Finding It by Cora Carmack

I didn’t think she could do it but Cora Carmack again blew my mind! This is the last book in the “Losing It” series and my absolute favorite. In this book we find Kelsey partying like its 1999. As she travels all around Europe, from city to city and country to country, you can tell that she is trying to drown her troubles with booze and dance/screw away her hurt with random men whom she has no intention of ever seeing again. That is until Jackson Hunt walks into her life. At first Kelsey thinks that this Adonis of a man can be her next conquest, that is until he rejects her advances on more than one occasion. Never having been turned down in her life, the more he rejects her, the more she is drawn to him. There is something about him, perhaps because he appears as damaged as she feels, that makes her want to get to know him better. Hunt can see she is running away from home, but he sets out to show her that home isn’t a place, but a feeling, and he challenges her to a 7 day adventure. Will she find home after 7 days with this man, or will she lose something even more precious than home… perhaps even her heart?

To be honest, Kelsey was my least favorite character from “Losing It”, and she really annoyed me because she always seems ungrateful and selfish, but in this book? I was rooting for her to finally find her happily ever after. Now as for Hunt… OMG… come to mama! Now this is the kind of man that I could really fall head over heels for. Big and strong, yet tender and kind. I do not apologize for the sap that this story turned me into. I guess I have a soft spot in my heart for a war hero and this was no exception. Again, Ms. Carmack told wonderfully sexy story with a great sense of humor. The steamy parts were extra steamy and there was just enough weltschmerz to appease any angst-whore out there. This was the perfect end to a wonderful series, and I look forward to seeing what she has in store for us next.
