“…hooked from beginning to end.”

Recommended Read!

It really was an incredible read. The level of detail and the originality of the world made it so easy to just fall into the pages and never want to leave.

Because of a curse thrust upon the world after a Duke was assassinated by his own court, the world experiences their nightmares appear in the streets every new moon. Magicians train to become wardens of towns and sections of city in order to kill the nightmare and protect the people. The catalogue nightmares and train & learn to recognize them when one of them appears every new moon.

In comes Clementine, who helps her father the warden of Heresmith to catalogue and defeat these nightmares. Trained with magic, she is fearless and truly committed to defending her village. But when two magicians come to town looking for trouble, her world will never be the same. Her path leads to vengeance, and danger and she discovers things about her life that rock her world. She decides to take matters into her own hands, but as she tries to have her vengeance, she grows closer to Phelan, one of the two magicians who is facing her current wrath.

I enjoyed the story building and the plot. I was completely immersed in the world, and couldn’t stop thinking about Clem and her troubles even while I wasn’t reading. It’s slow paced but always leaves you with more questions than actual answers, and that’s enough to keep you hooked from beginning to end. I was completely blind to where the story was going and I loved that! Extremely layered with intricate relationships between the characters it was a fantastic YA fantasy. I highly recommend it!
