Ahhhh Liam. I was so anxious to read this book because he seemed all tough and sexy when we met him in REAPER’S LEGACY. And he still is. I just had to change my expectations of his character to enjoy this story. The best way I can describe my feelings was that this felt more like a new adult MC romance with an edge. Which is fine. It’s just not what I had in mind.
Liam and Em’s story caught my interest from the start. This book backtracks a little into what happened in REAPER’S LEGACY right before Em and Sophie got kidnapped. I was so happy that we got to see a little back story into how Liam ended up with Em and that there was an initial connection there that they were building before the world around them and circumstances turned them against each other.
But talk about chemistry! Liam and Em sizzled with chemistry every time they were near each other and I got completely sucked into it. They were hot when they had to be, but also sweet and vulnerable at times.
And for my favorite part? They didn’t fight the attraction as much as they could have being from different clubs. The Romeo and Juliet aspect didn’t let anything hold them back from being with each other. They were both ready to make sacrifices and overcome obstacles.
Each book in this series has brought something new to the table for me. You definitely can’t say there’s two alike, nor do they have the same feel. Which in the end works because not everyone in the MC will be the same type of person. Although, I do have to say I’m ready for another Horse.
But what I’m ready for is..Picnic. Even more so now that I saw the heroine he’s going to end up with. I can’t wait to see him fall to his knees for a real woman instead of the little girls he prefers.
