It’s no secret by now that I love Rachel Higginson’s books, so when I saw she was starting to publish a new series I was immediately excited and couldn’t wait to read it.
The premise of this book is about a woman searching for the next step in her life. After she finds out her fiancé has been cheating on her and her father betrays her, she goes for an extended vacation to visit her friend and ends up taking a job as a waitress. Something she’s never done and she’s not particularly good at. But with that she has the time to think about the direction her life was headed in and what to do next. Not in her plans was the grumpy and brooding alpha male behind the bar and one of the three siblings that own the bar or her attraction to him.
I read this book almost in one sitting. It was such a pleasure to read and the lovable characters just kept me coming back wanting to know what would happen next. The chemistry, the main couple, the side characters. Everything worked together so well!
Definitely recommend this sweet slow burn if you’re on the lookout for a cute contemporary with a small town feel. And I’ll be impatiently waiting for us to get all the stories about the rest of the siblings.
