” This was a book full of action, mystery and magic and had me gripped from the first page to the last.” ~ Under the Covers

Cassidy Kincaide runs an antiquities shop called Trifles & Folly, but there is more to her business than just buying and selling antiques. Cassie’s shop is the perfect front for what she really does; acquiring and containing dangerous magic objects, with the help of her assistant manager Teag and the back up of her boss, the silent business partner of the Trifles & Folly and centuries old vampire, Sorren. But, something powerful and evil has arrived, seeming to charge up all the mundane objects that Cassie has sold and turn them into malevolent objects Cassie seek to keep out of circulation. Cassie and Teag must find the source of the evil and stop it, but with bodies showing up flayed and mutilated it may be more than they can handle on their own.

Will I be checking the shadows tonight as I go to bed? Maybe. Deadly Curiosities had more ghosts, shadow men and demons than you could shake a stick at…and I can’t wait to read the next in the series. This was a book full of action, mystery and magic and had me gripped from the first page to the last.

To give fair warning this book has no romance in it, or any hint of romance either, I admit as a complete romance junkie I felt a pang of disappointment, but I was soon engrossed into the book and didn’t miss it (too much). What I enjoyed most about Deadly Curiosities  was the mystery, I wanted to find out what was happening and why as much as Cassidy and the crew did. I also loved how creepy this book could be, Gail Z Martin manages to ratchet up the atmosphere, making is oppressive and scary, especially towards the end, making it that much more exciting.

So why only rate it 3.5 stars? Although I enjoyed the action and the plot, I found the characters a little forgettable. I liked them all, they were pleasant to read about and I was definitely on their team, but I connected with none of them and to some extent I found them a little boring.

Overall, I really enjoyed this book and will definitely be reading the next in the series, it was a dark adventure full of ghosts, ghouls and things that go bump in the night!

  1. I am glad you mentioned that the characters are forgetable. The fact that you are looking forward to the next book is a big encourgement for me. Now to decide if I wish to take a chance. Thank you!

  2. The unfortunate part is that we identify and fight with it, react and respond to it and treat it as if it is a living breathing entity.
If you are depressed you are at risk for heart disease.
You might be able suppress your chuckle on reading a great joke; a funny picture might not be able to get a cackle.

you can ask your realtor since they’re well-aware of the things that needs to be considered

Just think about each of the famous sports stars and millionaire identities and you
will probably realise one important thing about them that is certainly, a primary reason these people are mega-rich and successful is because
they all use a mentor or coach. Rather, this suggestion should perhaps be, inside extreme, the place
