Audrey had always had a crush on her brother’s friend, Colton. Being the younger sister, Colton had never given her the time or day until one day when she finally grew up and caught his attention. Except that day, didn’t really go that far. Now that they are grown up and working in the same field, Colton will finally see her as an equal; not only as a professional but romantically and sexually. Colton and Audrey will get their second chance.

Goodness to hotness, Dare to Resist is seriously a great read. I could not put this book down. Kaye kept me engaged page after page. Audrey was a pretty impressive woman with a very challenging career. I was impressed with how she stood up for what she wanted career wise and did not dwell on the rejections. The best part is without trying, she ends up with the man she wanted by playing the role of an equal.  She is pretty ruthless when it comes to competition.  Oh, and I can’t forget how steamy this couple was. Though the steamy scene didn’t come until after fifty percent, it wasn’t a dragging wait.

My only grumble is Colton’s realization of his love for Audrey. It just came too quickly for my liking and what made it worse is that they had made permanent and abrupt decisions that again, was too fast for my liking.

Overall, Dare to Resist was good hot read. Ms. Kaye had set a high standard for the rest of the authors in this multi-author series. I’ve never read the other authors, but I’m hoping they are up to par with Ms. Kaye. She did such a great job with this prequel that I’m dying to learn more of how the characters seal the deal.

If you don’t already know, this book is a five book series by five different authors. The other four books will be about characters closely related to Colton and Audrey and the books will be taking place during Colton and Audrey’s wedding.
