“Ms. Probst still has a lot of kinks to iron out but for the most part, she’s done well. ” ~ Under the Covers

This novel is Ms. Probst’s debut to Paranormal Romance and for her first PNR novel, she did well. I’ve always enjoyed her writing, and that has not changed. Probst brings in her trademark of hot, sweet and romantic to Dante’s Fire now adding a paranormal twist into the mix.

Dante is equally gifted with supernatural powers to save women from traumatic events. He saves them from being attacked and helps them heal and deal with the aftermath. Unfortunately, his current charge is harder to care for than usual. Not only that he knows her, he had always had feelings for her. Against his better judgment, he will fall in love with Selina, and if she doesn’t accept who he is, this relationship is doomed before it even starts. Honesty and acceptance will be their biggest challenge.

I enjoyed Dante’s Fire, and I love Dante even more than the story. I was intrigued by the double life he lived and was very impressed with the decisions he made in his life. Of course, it helps that he is rich, big, strong, and very sexy. Selina is one lucky b*tch. She is not my favorite, but I liked her well enough. She is a success driven woman but always stayed grounded. I like that a lot about her. I respect her even more with her acceptance of Dante’s secret job. Honestly, I’m not sure I’ll be okay with sharing him with the world. I know that sounds selfish and jealous but with a man like Dante, I would want him all to myself.

The Paranormal bit was light and story was a bit short for my liking but I thought the romance, heat factor and the PNR bit of the story was a good blend. I think Ms. Probst still has a lot of kinks to iron out but for the most part, she’s done well. I’m curious to what she has up her sleeve for the next novel.

  1. This is a different paranormal twist and I’m always curious to see how authors do when crossing over to other genres.
