[CONVICTED] is a rollercoaster ride of emotions, decorated with twists and turns that you didn’t see coming. ~ Under the Covers

You’ve read CONSEQUENCES. You made it through TRUTH and now you are eager to find out what happens in CONVICTED. In the last book of this crazy trilogy, Aleatha Romig brings readers much of what they expect from the series. It’s a rollercoaster ride of emotions, decorated with twists and turns that you didn’t see coming.

I won’t mention plot details because I believe that a lot of the enjoyment comes from reading about Claire and Tony’s journey yourself and not necessarily about just how it ends. So much has happened to these two that you don’t often know where Romig still step next. A lot of the time when I was reading this book, I felt like I was sitting back, watching this all from a television screen. Much like the dramas you see on TV, Romig writes on the edge, keeping readers on that precipice until she hits you with that next twist.

Despite the crazy, bumpy ride, I think some readers are drawn into Romig’s words because of her strong authorial voice. I know I am. Her writing continues to be one of the best in indie publishing and I think it’s because of her eloquence that readers are able to endure the tumultuous journey that this series takes. Paired with effortless and detailed writing, you have a story that remains engaging and interesting.

I will say that I did like where the story ended. But that’s not it for Romig. She actually plans on writing key scenes in Tony’s POV in a compilation called Behind His Eyes. While I liked reading Tony’s POV, there is still a part of me that was unsure about his character, especially when he was reliving certain scenes in his memory in this book. I wonder how Romig will attack this idea and what added insight it will bring to Tony’s character. I believe we’ll learn more about his emotions and his convictions.

I find it difficult to rate these books because it’s not a simple, clean-cut ride for these two characters. I haven’t always agreed with the choices or actions of some of these characters, but I also feel  drawn to them. I often wondered how Romig would achieve the impossible, but she has.

Readers who have enjoyed the series so far will love CONVICTED. Just be ready for another, crazy ride 😉
