Jennifer Estep is writing Fantasy again! When I saw this, I immediately wanted to try it because the premise sounds different to what I am normally drawn to. One of the interesting things about Estep’s series is that she tends to feature a lot of different creatures and characters.

I felt like this book was a little out of my comfort zone, so it took me longer than expected to get into. However, I do think that it’s highly detailed and features an interesting protagonist.

The concept of a spy is also something new for me. I can say that I’ve only read a handful of spy novels, but paired with this backdrop, I feel like this series will be an interesting one to watch. I am looking forward to seeing what Estep plans to do with this series with the future books.

  1. Thanks! Her Elemental Assassin series isn’t for me but I did enjoy the Crown of Shards series.
