“I am normally a massive fan of Sarah McCarty’s books and she alway leaves me day dreaming about the sexy men that she creates, but Caden’s Vow isn’t really having that effect, it leaves me strangely unmoved.” ~ Under the Covers
Ever since Maddie O’Hare was rescued from life working as a whore by one of the Hell’s Eight men and brought to the compund she has been drawn to Caden Miller and when she sees him riding out, breaking a promise to her, she is determined to stop letting life dictate to her and sets after what she wants: Caden.
I am normally a massive fan of Sarah McCarty’s books and she alway leaves me day dreaming about the sexy men that she creates, but Caden’s Vow isn’t really having that effect, it leaves me strangely unmoved. I think some of the problem I had with this book is that it Caden and Maddie had already built up a relationship before the book had started and I have only read 3 out of the six book in this series, so I missed out on that. I also I didn’t feel I knew Caden any better at the end of the book then I did at the beginning and so on the outside he had the sexy cowboy thing going on, but I never felt I got beneath the surface.
However, what I did enjoy about Caden was how gentle and loving he was towards Maddie, and Maddie herself really changed and developed over the course of the book from a woman who couldn’t face reality without slipping into crazy to a strong woman trying to make her own way and find her passion. Something else that Ms McCarty also write really well is sex, and it was no different in Caden’s Vow, it managed to be sweet, loving and off the charts smoking hot at the same time.
Although this isn’t my favourite book of Sarah McCarty, it was a quick and entertaining read, I just hope I can connect more with the hero in her next book.

I love Sarah McCarty’s Hell’s Eight series. Can’t wait to read this one.
Great review Suz, I haven’t read any of Sarah McCarty’s books, I love western & historical so I will add them to my TBR list 🙂
Thanks for the review.
Thanks Suz!
Is the Western tag a new one? I think I need a Tag Guide for Dummies! XD
Sorry you didn’t like it much, Suz…although it wasn’t my fave of the series (AHEM–Caine), I did enjoy it. Sarah is one of the very few historical authors that I will read.
Thanks for the head ups. Definitely gonna start this series at the beginning.
thanks fo the review!
