ARC Review: Blue Days by Mary Calmes

“BLUE DAYS explores the sweeter side to Calmes’ romances. ” ~ Under the Covers

BLUE DAYS is Mary Calmes’ take on the Japanese hero. While the book is actually told from Dwyer Knolls’ POV the whole time, Takeo is the person of focus. When Dywer’s company gets a major overhaul, Takeo and his team come in and virtually take over in the following years. As several positions change within the company and others leave, Dwyer and Takeo are the only two left standing. And it isn’t until they work together and go on a business trip that things begin to heat up.

Takeo is your typical Asian character. He’s a bit shy and very misunderstood. A lot of people don’t like him because of his perceived behaviour, but I don’t think Takeo does anything to make him a bad person. It’s why D is so drawn to him because he seems to be the only one who understands him.

Their romance blooms at a strange pace. At first it’s just friendly but once Dwyer shares his emotions, it’s a quick jaunt to the end, developing a little bit too quickly for my taste. However, this is only a novella and with the amount of enjoyment I had while reading this, I didn’t mind the quick flip. BLUE DAYS explores the sweeter side to Calmes’ romances.
