Brace yourself Cecy fans, A Cursed Bloodline will take you for an emotional roller-coaster ride. It left me not only without any sleep but stripped of every energy to function the day after reading this book. And with that said, A Cursed Bloodline is one of my Top Picks of the year.
This is one of those series that should be read from the beginning. Only because reading from the start makes the readers understand the journey of all the characters and especially understand how Celia has gotten to this point of her life. It is a tremendous journey full of risks, danger and heartaches but also full of hope, love, family, friendship and a whole lot of survival.
Everything I’ve come to expect and predicted from the very beginning of this series has not at all come true in this book. Sure, Ms. Robson gave it non-stop suspense and action as always. There’s a little less humor, but the snark and smart mouths of the characters are also there, but some outcomes, I did not see coming. In fact, Ms. Robson shocked me with the turn of events she brought to the Weird Sisters’ lives. Just when I thought Celia has endured the worse, nothing would compare to this. This “Cursed Bloodline” will be her ultimate test. I have to say, this will also test the loyalties of everyone around her.
There is just no way for me to do a recap of the story without spilling any spoilers. But let me tell you this, there are a lot of scenes in this book that has deep meanings to them so, pay attention. Watch for Celia’s friendships and how drastic some will change for the better or worse, specifically her relationship with her sisters, Danny, Aric and most especially, Misha….and even the Catholic girls too. Everything that has come to pass between all of them had me in tears.
The sub-stories were just as powerful. Again, without doing a recap, I’ll tell you that Emme and Liam’s story affected me the most. Okay, maybe not the most because every bit of this book affected me, but their story hit me hard. I also took Misha’s role to heart. I wanted more for him but, I guess when it comes down to it; this Master Vamp is not quite ready for his HEA just yet.
Up next is A Curse Unbroken, and it is the last of Celia’s story. She will finally get her happy-ever-after and damn after this book it will be a well-deserved one. The series will not end after that but will continue to Taran’s story. I was hoping for Emme’s story but if I know Cecy, her characters have their way of revealing themselves. I trust she will keep us equally entertained and intrigued while we wait for their story.
