“I find the MacKenzie family impossible to resist…”
~ Under the Covers

It’s Hart’s birthday and the MacKenzies are all gathering in Kilmorgan to celebrate. However, events quickly turn sinister when the place is robbed of some priceless art and Ian is offered a possible “cure” for his madness. But, who would dare rob from the very powerful Duke of Kilmorgan? The Mackenzies are about to face an enemy from the past determined to ruin them.

I find the MacKenzie family impossible to resist, especially Ian MacKenzie, even now in A MacKenzie Clan Gathering set 10 years after the events in The Madness of Lord Ian MacKenzie I still find him irresistible. So, having this book centre around Ian and Beth was a treat, seeing their love still burning just as bright as it did when they first met, was the highlight of this book for me. Of course, all the MacKenzies were present at some point during this, it wouldn’t be clan gathering if we didn’t get to check in with Hart, Cameron, Ian and Daniel.

Ashley also injects some intrigue into the story as Kilmorgan gets burglarised and some art is stolen. I did enjoy this part of the story I especially liked how it tied in with The Stolen MacKenzie Bride but, for me, I was more interested in seeing the MacKenzie family together. I also enjoyed the “cure” part of the story, which, basically allows us to delve into Ian’s childhood and, I though, just showcased how unique and wonderful Ian is, just as he is.

If you already read this series, this is a must-read, if you haven’t read this series…why not? (Although, please start at the beginning, this book isn’t worth reading until you know the background of all the characters)

  1. I’m not really sure why I’ve not yet started this series.. it combines 2 of my favorites: historical romanc and scots!

  2. I adore this season, it is a must buy for me and then I circle the release date on my calendar. I have a special place in my heart for Ian so I am so happy he is featured.
