synopsis

Ava and Reed were everything to each other ten years ago. But then tragedy struck and he broke her heart. Now he turns up at her work. Ava always knew that she had moved to his hometown and working at his family’s mountain resort. But since Reed was not involved in his father’s life anymore and didn’t want anything to do with the resort, she wasn’t expecting him to show up now that the resort was up for sale. And seeing him after all those years stirred up feelings she thought she had buried deep.

review

There’s one thing I usually know for certain when I pick up a Sarina Bowen book. There will be a sweet and charming romance that will leave me warm and fuzzy. And in some ways I think that is certainly the case with A LITTLE TOO LATE. This perfect wintery vibe romance felt like a warm and cozy hug with a delicious cup of hot cocoa.

While it’s not one of the flashiest books I’ve read by Ms. Bowen, the characters grabbed my attention from the start and didn’t let up until I finished. It was a one sitting read! And that hasn’t happened for me in a while.

The surprising thing is that this book talks about some deep issues but doesn’t necessarily address them head on so the angst was kept pretty low. It’s definitely more of a feel good romance, low on drama. And sometimes you just need those books where there isn’t a ton of fighting the love story. It was pretty clear to me that Ava and Reed belong together, and they also never doubted it.

Besides a solid second chance romance we also get a nice setup for the siblings. I’m a sucker for mountain resort winter romances, must be all the Hallmark Christmas movies I watch. So this whole series is now going on my TBR. I have to know how the rest of the brothers fare and I know I already like their love interests.

in conclusion

When you’re ready to get into the winter vibes, pick up this series. I wished there would’ve been a tad more wintery fun but I think there was just enough in this one to get you started.
