“They may be one of my favorite couples of the year!”
~ Under the Covers

Do you know what’s the best thing about setting and following reading goals? You get to read some amazing books!

I decided I needed to read more classic historical romances this year and I asked you guys to give me some recommendations. The one that got recommended to me the most was LORD OF SCOUNDRELS. All I can tell you guys that I adore it!

I haven’t read this author before and I’m reading out of order (which I never do!). There’s perfect chemistry between the main characters and if you like jerk heroes I think Sebastian will satisfy your needs. But I love that underneath it all he’s just a boy that never got any love and is desperate for it. Such a tender center with a prickly exterior.  Plus he whispers sexy things in Italian so I’m in heaven.

Plus we also get a strong, badass female and it was the only way it could’ve worked.  She’s every bit as strong as Sebastian and can hold her own with him. She goes toe to toe with him.  I couldn’t get enough of the chemistry and the sparks between these two.  Every second of this was a delicious experience.  They may be one of my favorite couples of the year!

I can’t wait to read more by this author and from this series.  I’ve been really missing out.

About Loretta Chase

Loretta Lynda Chekani was born in 1949, of Albanian ancestry. For her, the trouble started when she learned to write in first grade. Before then, she had been making up her own stories but now she knew how to write them down to share. In her teenage years, she continue to write letters, keep a journal, write poetry and even attempt the Great American Novel (still unfinished). She attended New England public schools, before she went off to college and earned an English degree from Clark University.

After graduation, she worked a variety of jobs at Clark including a part-time teaching post. She was also moonlighting as a video scriptwriter. It was there that she met a video producer who inspired her to write novels and marry him. Under her married name, Loretta Chase, has been publishing historical romance novels since 1987. Her books have won many awards, including the Romance Writers of America RITA.
