“Unique, compelling, enchanting.  Jack McCabe made my heart beat fast, Lille will quickly become of your favorite heroines of the year.  The supporting cast will steal your heart.  I am completely out of words when it comes to Ms. Cosway and the awesome stories that live in her head. ” ~ Under the Covers

I want to have L.H. Cosway’s babies!  There, I said it.  I love everything this woman writes and HEARTS OF FIRE is no exception.  Another absolute winner to her huge line of massive hits.  HEARTS OF FIRE is an enthralling story, one that you don’t even realize how quickly you loose yourself in.  Unique, compelling, enchanting.  Jack McCabe made my heart beat fast, Lille will quickly become of your favorite heroines of the year.  The supporting cast will steal your heart.  I am completely out of words when it comes to Ms. Cosway and the awesome stories that live in her head.

I’ve read a few circus themed books and oddly enough I can’t get enough of them.  L.H. Cosway puts her personal stamp on this story writing about a non-commercial traveling circus.  They don’t announce their dates anywhere, they just pick up and go then advertise in the new town where they set up camp.  The perfect environment for a bunch of misfits trying to escape their pasts.  And at the helm of that is Jack McCabe.  We first heard of Jack in SIX OF HEARTS, but we thought him dead.  He’s Jay Field’s long lost brother, and he’s had a rough life to get through.  A life full of heartache and adversities.  That’s built the tough exterior he shows the world.  But that tough exterior is what draws you in at first.  He’s dangerous.  He’s mysterious.  I mean, he’s a fire breather that looks like Jason Momoa.  Can I just say HOT?  I fell for Jack like I always do for Ms. Cosway’s heroes.  Hard and fast.  And completely.  One of my top book boyfriends of 2015.

utc-top-pickThen there’s Lille.  A girl who has to live to her mother’s expectations.  Not being able to do what her heart tells her.  Her mom expects her to study a certain thing, date a certain person, be what she envisions.  But that’s not what Lille wants.  And after one meeting with Jack and her first circus experience she decides to run away from home and join the circus!  She’s a dreamer and a bit innocent, you can’t help but want to be her friend and hug her!  Her softness has a way of getting Jack to open up that no other would’ve had (except maybe me, because…. come on!)

Their chemistry is instant, their story is perfectly paced.  This is a book you are guaranteed to fall in love with.  While living the crazy and sometimes dangerous life of a traveling circus, a strong bond is formed.  And while we are talking about falling in love and hearts being stolen, be prepared to cry your little eyes out for Jack at some point.  Just saying.  The sexual chemistry is off the charts and made me push some boundaries with Jack’s preferences and needs in that department.  Only Jack could make that get me all hot and bothered.  But then again, Jack can probably want to do anything and I’d be up for it.  I was pleasantly surprised at how Lille handled herself with both Jack’s past and Jack’s sexual needs.  Just made me love the girl even more.

This book sets up the story for King, and I cannot wait for KINGS OF HEARTS to come out.  I’m literally dying and have such high expectations I could pass out.

Favorite Quotes:

“I want to consume you, steal your light and make myself a little bit more.  You’re more, Lille.  I want to be more, too.”

“Now that I knew about his bedroom preferences, even seeing fire reminded me of sex.  And sex with Jack was something that branded itself into your memory like hot steel permanently marking your skin.”
